Isbjorn is an initiative on the Avalanche blockchain in operation since August 2021. Focused on increasing efforts to save the polar bears, using DAO capabilities for users to discuss and decide the specifics of our Arctic conservation missions in collaboration with Polar Bear International.

This mission started as a way to increase positive market sentiment on Avalanche by showcasing the functionality of DAO governance in real world scenarios. By holding $IGGY, users have influence and can track the progress of long and short term conservation missions.

We are currently working on a simple educational game for PBI (Polar Bear International)'s schools program. Learning about the lifecycle of the Arctic ecosystem, and highlighting the efforts from PBI to track and trace polar bear populations.

Most of the Arctic, due to it’s harsh climate, is low in data relating to polar bear populations. Our initial mission is focused on providing technology capable of identifying the regions that need support, in order to prioritise the areas needing conservation.

Isbjorn is focused on our programme to educate schools about Arctic ecosystems and sustainable practices to facilitate a healthy environments for polar bears and all life on ice.

Going forward our mission is to utilise DAO capabilities for users to make powerful decisions on conservation efforts in the Arctic. Getting involved and being part of real change.

How does your project benefit the Avalanche Ecosystem? Please mention any existing or upcoming partnerships:

Our priority is showcasing DAO capabilities and providing a positive market sentiment for the Avalanche ecosystem. Polar bears are on brand, and are a great example of what new governance technology can do in the real world. We constantly work with partners on-chain and are involved with the culture, enough so that we hope to lead by example by changing the conversation to important real world issues.

Thanks Rowdy! Game-Fi is our long term vision. Conservation education games as well as mini-games recreating classics from dev’s childhood like Club Penguin, Miniclip, and Moshi Monsters. A great way to create a functional ecosystem with fun utility.

Seriously, this project Bullish indeed. The one and only in Avax Ecosystem. No other alike. This mission saving polar bears really match and boost “Avalanche” Concept in cryptospace. :rocket::wolf::polar_bear:

I genuinely believe this would be a great use of Community Grants. After reading the detailed medium article, it really shines a light on the need for funding for polar bear conservation. What I found even more interesting was the approach Isbjorn is taking by creating a platform for polar bear conservation education; with more education comes more understanding of the need for funding for this research. By also creating a DAO, participants in the platform can help provide actual real world change with their decisions and voting. Also by creating their own subnet on Avalanche it would allow non-profit organizations to securely receive donations on-chain. I support this project as it provides a positive impact on the world around us and can provide a positive image for the Avalanche chain. Huge kudos to the team and good luck!
