Post-quantum cryptography

I’m currently working at a PKI software publisher and the big deal right now is PQC, post-quantum cryptography. In case you don’t know, the risk exists that RSA and ECDSA will be broken in the relatively short term by specialized quantum computers (SHA256 and SHA3 would be secure, symmetric cryptography like AES more of less safe). Granted, that’s only a risk – however, the consequences would be devastating: everything using asymmetric cryptography would be impacted, from SSL/TLS to S/MIME, to blockchains. The consensus is we’ll have to switch to other algorithms at some point in the future, and it won’t be easy.

What is Ava Labs’ stance on this subject? Is there a roadmap, or anything you can tell us about your vision for Avalanche in a PQC future?
