Avalanche infraBUIDL() Program

Hey Daniel,

Appreciate your prompt response regarding this. One final question, are you aware of any grants out there that you reckon my team would be eligible to apply based on the information i have provided? Thank you!

@Daniel.O Any update on projects that have applied to the infrabuidl program? Whether they’ve been accepted or otherwise

We notify projects on an ongoing basis. Accepted projects get eventually announced on X/Twitter.

If you want to ask about a specific application feel free to DM me !

I applied with the project, Bonadocs. So, I was curious about the state of the application.

Hi Daniel,

I have a few questions regarding the application process and general preferences, and I’d appreciate your guidance:

1. Company Structure
Should we formalize our company structure before applying? We are planning to form an LLC based in Texas, USA, and would like to know if this poses any specific challenges or requirements during the application or evaluation process.

2. Resources for Grant Recipients
Are technical resources, legal assistance, or marketing support typically made available to grant recipients? Gaining clarity on this will help us better align our expectations and refine our planning.

3. Token Preferences
On the Avalanche network, is there a general preference or recommendation for projects to create a new token, or to directly utilize AVAX within their ecosystem? If there are specific considerations or benefits associated with either approach, we’d appreciate your insights.

Thank you for your time and assistance! Your guidance will be invaluable as we move forward with our planning. :small_red_triangle: :rocket: :full_moon:

Hey! Thank you for your interest.

  1. You can apply now, before the entity is set up/formalised. But it would be good to have it in place if you get accepted into the program, in order to draft the grant agreement.

  2. Yes, we often support projects and developers by announcing the grants and helping them amplify their message.

  3. Projects do not need to have a token. But we look at alignment with the Avalanche ecosystem when considering a project.

Just submitted our application on behalf of ChainArq. I see from previous comments that the system doesn’t send confirmation but the site rerouted me to a json page when I hit apply. Can someone please confirm whether our application was received?

Was received and is currently under review!

Thanks, what’s the usual turnaround for a response if I may ask? Also, is it worth applying for the AI infrabuild separately or can that be discussed with someone when and if someone reaches out from your side?

We are preparing our infraBUIDL() application and have a few questions, namely:

  1. Are there any examples of successful applications publicly available to see how the grant application (for a small-scale project) is expected to look like? The submission form and guidelines here are rather open-ended.
  2. What is a common percentage split between direct and retroactive funding? Is it expected that we include a suggestion for the split in the application or is that unilaterally decided by the selection committee?
  3. In case our grant gets approved and we successfully deliver it, is it possible to apply for a subsequent grant for an additional/related expansion of the project? Or should we apply for a larger grant from the start? Or is it better to apply for a small grant initially but indicate the project’s envisioned expansion?
  4. Are there any examples of the typical reporting requirements (both the intermediate ones and the final one)? Based on our experiences with different grants and funding sources, we would like to estimate well our budget to include such reporting obligations (as it can add a significant overhead).
  5. It is mentioned that recipients are required to enter into a standard Grant Agreement. Is this agreement publicly available so that we can study it before applying?
  6. Just to double-check, are there any obligations that the project be made open-source?
  7. Is the grant application an iterative process, i.e. can we adapt our plan based on feedback of the application and submit it again, or are we allowed to apply only once?

We would highly appreciate any clarification on these points.

Hi @Daniel.O, (firstly, thanks for prompt replies on the forum! Has provided useful context). We submitted a proposal for the Cross-Chain Data Bridge last week. Is there an expected turnaround time? Thanks.

@Daniel.O Super excited to see this program and just submitted a proposal to build a cross-chain data bridge to port Filecoin storage to Avalanche C-Chain to support dApps’ needs of decentralized storage. Looking forward to getting the feedback about my proposal.

@Daniel.O just submitted our application but didn’t receive any confirmation of submission in the UI or via email or anything so just wanted to check it made it through?
