Is this something that is actually going to go ahead?
I would have loved to set up a validator node but unfortunately got priced out before I could get the 2000.
According to info, reducing the minimum staking amount will be one of the first proposal as soon as Governance system will be implemented.
So, it should be decided via this mechanism.

Any exact date was communicated at the moment.
Based on discussion and comment, governance estimation would be Q2.
